W.H. ALLEN/AEI 2812.5KVA DIESEL ELECTRIC GENERATING SET

Engine
Allen model 16VBCS37E Vee formation, 16 cylinder, turbo charged and after cooled, air start, water cooled diesel engine producing 3200 bhp at 600 rpm.
Engine is fitted with engine driven water pumps, lube oil pumps and Woodward UG8 dial type governor. Unit is direct coupled to:

Alternator
AEI type AD63/50 producing 2812.5 KVA, 11,000 volts, 0.8 power factor, 148 amps, 50 Hz at 600 rpm.

Mounting
Engine, alternator, starting air receiver and 2 x compressors (1 electric and 1 air start) all mounted on common fabricated steel skid base.
Skid base has metallistic type anti vibration mountings incorporated

Cooling
By heat exchanger with secondary circuit utilising a cooling tower.

Switch Gear
Unit comes complete with engine monitoring panel and medium voltage auxiliaries control panel.

General Observations
This set was previously used in a UK factory for standby purposes and, in recent times, has only been run on a periodic basis for lube oil circulation having only recorded 5,600 running hours.

Configuration
The engine and alternator are mounted onto a heavy duty steel base frame.
Fitted with heavy duty oil and air filtration systems. 24v starting, 55 deg C free standing, electric fan cooled radiator

Controls
No panel or breaker is included.

Cooling
Remote electric fan cooled radiator.

History
The set was supplied to a large company in Europe for winter peak loping and was replaced by a larger Yanmar set.
